I got into cars real heavy about nine years ago with the purchase of my first restoration project a 1968 Mercury Cougar. Almost done with that project I figured it was time to switch things up a bit and go with a different company. In 1979 in Sandusky Ohio my mother and aunt bought matching Camaros. In 1982 my mother sold hers after my younger brother came along. My aunt kept hers and moved to New Jersey. For the last 20 years my aunt has been telling me that she wants me to have her car. Never thought much of that comment nor did I ever think she was serious. Had a few phone conversations and a 19 hour round trip and now the car is back in Ohio. The car isn't in Sandusky but it's close enough. It has been sitting in and out of a garage for the last 15 years. Weather has taken its toll and so has the sun. Most people would see a rusty old junker but not me. I was going through pictures at my mother's house last year and found a picture of my aunt and I sitting on the hood of this car in 1979 and I had to have it so I could bring it back to life. I am looking foward to this new project and so glad I found this forum. Its gonna make this much easier and fun.
Thanks in advance
Dave

I like the 2nd gen. Replacement body panels for those cars are not hard to find, junk yards or new ones from Year One or Classic Industries are readily available.

I like that year. We carry a ton of weatherstrip seals for it too. The only thing I add to it is a factory spoiler on the rear deck lid.
