Alright, I finally after 2 years started working on this car. It has been a long wait, but Im sticking to it.

First things first. I wanted to start with the drive train first. I started by taking off the A/C components cause I wont be using them in the rebuild. Next went the Fan, radiator and evaporator. Then the all the component brackets, alternator, waterpump, coolant overflow tank, windshield washer tank, accumulator, heater hoses, TBI, Intake manifold, valve covers, rockers and rods (on one side so far). Thats about as far as I have gotten on the inside. I am having a problem getting one of the power steering pump lines off so I can take the power steering pump out with the bracket. I just need a line wrench and this could be solved but I dont have one at this time. A friend of mine has a 92 Camaro RS and his A/C vacuum switch on his A/C controls went out so I ripped mine out cause as far as I know mine still worked. And for some reason they are impossible to find at the parts stores. Anyways. This is what I have done so far with this. Here are the pictures.

I forgot to give the background of this car, and my future plans for this car.

This car is a 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula. It came with the L03 305 TBI motor. Factory stock with WS6 suspension. Instead of the stock 2.71 or whatever gears it was replaced with 3.73 gears with posi-trac. Stock exhaust has been replaced with true dual Flowmaster 40 series exhaust. I wish it came with the Manual, but instead i got the automatic 700r4. Dont mind to much because of the highway gear. This car was originally the formula blue. The guy that rebuilt the motor painted the car Dark Red but if you look at the engine bay you can see the original color.

Alright now for what I want and plan to do to it. The 305 is coming out and never going back in. I have plans for a 5.7 vortec out of a 98 GMC, but my step-dad is kind of screwing me on that deal. But I have a friend with a LT1 long block and hope to possibly get that for a measly price of 1k. With either engine it will be bored and stroked to a 383. Originally was only planning on doing a 355, but decided just to go a little bigger. At least with the 383 I can get the power numbers im looking for. Which is around 400/400. Im hoping at least. We will see. Anyways, right now Im debating on color scheme. Ive been looking at different paint companies to see what they have to offer, and right now I have found 2 that I really like. One is a Ketchme Kopper, which is more of a copper/bronze type burnt orange, and the other is called Galaxy Grey. A dark, light metallic blackish/grey.

Interior carpet will be replaced, back seat is getting ripped out and being replaced with a custom box that will hold a 10" sub and amp. Only part of it will be used for the sub and amp the rest will just be a flat panel across the back. The front seats will be replaced with racing seats and 5 point harnesses. Rims will be replaced as well. I found 1 set of rims that I really like. They are a remanufacture of the old school Honeycomb rims. Except in bigger sizes. I was thinking 18" in the back and 17" in the front, but I will have to figure that out later. The exhaust is getting cutouts added for when I feel like having fun with people or decide to take it to the track. But so far this is my hopes and dreams for this car. As I move forward I will update with more. Thank you.
