Hi, just signed up for the forums here after coming across a link on Rock Auto in the newsletter they send me. I belong to many camaro forums and I hope to enjoy my membership here as well. Live in northern Ohio where the weather is still pretty decent for Ohio, I haven't yet put the car up for the winter. I own a 82 Z-28 that has been modified quite extensively and have owned it since 1984 when the car was 2 years old. It's been my hobby ever since and I enjoy taking it to cruises, shows and just plain driving and hammering on it when I can. I am in my mid 50's but I am 17 all over again when I get in that car.

Hi, and thanks for welcoming. The engine is a 406 that I put together this summer. It is a 75 block that I had bored .030" using reconditioned stock rods and crank using ARP hardware throughout the bottom end. I use a stock oil pump with a windage tray and Moroso 6qt pan. The pistons are Speed Pro hyper units and ring pack, with the decked block, compression comes in at 10:5:1. I have Dart Pro 1 aluminum 200cc heads that have Comp Cams Beehive springs and hardware and 2.02"1.60"valves. The cam is a retro hydraulic roller unit ground by Crane Cams that has .563"/.574" lift with the 1.6 Comp roller rockers along with their retro roller lifters. I run a air gap dual plane intake with a Holley 750 vac Avenger carb with a 1/2" spacer. Hedman headers are hooked to a 3" Flowmaster exhaust. This engine runs really strong and pulls hard through 6000 rpm, good thing I have a rev limiter on it. I run a built 700R4 with a 3000 stall lockup convertor and the rear is 3.73 gears. I have included a few pics for you to see.

 oh man that is sweet, very well done - that's what I'm talking about All Show and All Go - how many times have you been pulled over with that beast

So far not any, I got followed by one of our local police officers when I took off from a light and as got into the accelerator and shifted to 2nd gear and barked the tires good and I slowed right back down. I didn't see him sitting at the light behind a couple of cars but he saw and heard me. He followed me for about 2 miles and no doubt checking my plates and name. When I got to the next light and he was behind me, I'm thinking he's going to pull me over and instead turns the corner in the opposite direction he smiles and shakes his head as if to say "you're old enough to know better" When I do my hot rodding I go out onto the back roads away from everyone else so as not to bring any attention and just like a skunk, I leave my marks. The car drifts great with all the torque and tires smoking all the way.

have you had the beast dyno-ed - I have a super bee (very heavily modded) that my wife takes to work every now and then and she has already been giving a ticket (reckless driving 45 in a 25 school zone, oh that one cost me), but i have been pulled over three times and let go each time in the next county (luckily they where either muscle car fanatics or just figured I'm going through a mid life crisis, plus I'm a disabled retired Navy vet) - the small town we live in watchs us every time we leave with one of our rides :(

No, I haven't had the car dynoed. I did have couple of guys do a desktop dyno of what the motor was pushing HP and TQ and both came pretty close to each other using different programs. If I remember right the HP was near 475 and TQ was around 525+lbft. All I know it is alot more than the 355 I had in it before. The local police are pretty cool, there was one young guy who was trying to make an impression with people and he would hassle the hot rodders. He would hassle me about my plate and my window tint even though both were legal. I'm glad I live where I can go out and have a little fun without being hassled or bothering any body. I am hoping to run the car down the 1/4 mile next summer now that it is broken in and running great. Given the car sits low it will have an absolutely horrible 60ft time since there will no weight transfer but I feel it will have good mph through the traps.
