Hi, I'm Nick. I have an 88 Camaro RS. Believe it or not my grandmother stopped driving it when she was 65! She loved that car and so do I. Now its mine. Low mileage, V8, needs some work and new paint for sure! I recently had to pull the starter to replace a rusted freeze plug and when the stater went back in, the car has no power. Not even the dome light. I read 12.8 on the battery am at a loss from there. Any thoughts? Thanx, Nick.:help:

I think you have a loss of power between the battery and the main harness that follows down to the starter most likly a rotted wire check the power wire with a DVOM

I found it! I have pulled a lot of starters in my time and they all seem pretty much the same give or take a wire. This starter gave me an extra wire. Four to be clear. I was injured in a car accident and so my son pulled this starter for me and when i finally climbed under there in the dark on the gravel to take a good look at what i could see with my "Magcharger" I saw the wire that runs directly to the battery tucked up above the frame, not touching the frame but tucked out of the way. I think he moved it to remove the starter then did not see it when he did the install. Connected that wire and I'm up and roaring again. Glad I found this site. I'll be on it regularly. Thanx TCF.
