I am 19, I built my 1983 Camaro out of a junk yard. 6 months of hard work and I love it. Right now the 3-4 clutch went out and I am rebuilding the 700r4 in it to handle alot more horsepower because I am dropping either a 327 or a 400 sbc in it. lots-o-power. OH! and 3:73 gears in a 10-bolt rear end. I am minus a few parts so If you have any you want to sell message me!!!

Glad to see ya' back Darren. And btw badass, if you are going with a 7 1/2" or 7 5/8" 10 bolt there is a few things you are going to want to do to that axle for it take some extra punishment. Where the axle tubes go into the pumpkin there are just 2 spot welds on each side. If you weld the tubes all the way around it will help strengthen it up. Next you are going to want to replace the differential with a better unit that is a locker and can take some punishment. If you get the Zexel torsion unit that SLP put in the '99 Firehawks which were good for around 350HP to the wheels. You can also use a Detroit Locker or something, but the cheaper you go the weaker the unit will probably be. You are going to want to replace the crush sleeve with a solid spacer. And when you are getting your differential you want to upgrade to 28 spline axles for a little more strenght. Last is the rear end cover, if you get one like Trick Flow offers it will help to reduce flex in the rear end. If you do all that, it could handle probably 350-400HP. You can do all this for about $900. Or you can go ahead and bite the bullet and buy an aftermarket 12 bolt for about $2200 or an aftermarket Ford 9" for about $2400. Either way it's going to be interesting. :34[1]:

Never really left :) just back trying again to get something going on this site!
But reading above if your thinking about putting down some serious power I would stay away from a 10 bolt rear end. I can show you some serious pictures of waht can happen to a 10 bolt after a few times down a track. If your going to do a serious build I vote FOrd 9" all the way! You wouldnt be able to tear one of those up!
