so hey...

lets do this....what are some of your prefered brands? this isnt to bash one another on what YOU like...this is just your opinion and what sounds good to your ears. cause honestly, every brand of equipment has there place and time.

so....ill start with my faves...

if any of you want to throw in some info about your fave brands, let others know, i cant tell you how many posts i have in other forums for audio help! if you have any questions about what does what, how to hook what to what, and so on....i'm 100% to doing what i can to make this a great place to learn some sheeeite!

i dont know everything there is to know about this, but i do produce, play and mix music for a living, and managed a couple of custom shops here in dallas a few years ago, and have a good understanding of frequencies, and all that technical jargon......and would love to learn more, and help anyone who is struggling with something.

What not a kenwood fan? Haha I agree with everything you have posted here those are by far the top brands, but I would also add kenwood into the mix. I am a huge fan of kenwood cd players and amps.

ya know man, i've never owned a kenwood. i think the excelon stuff is good....i've just heard mixed feelings about them. im sure they have some great products!

I have a Kenwood receiver that I bought about 6 years ago and after 1 year it popped a resistor. I had a friend of a friend "fix" it for me...it worked for day or two and then quit again. Since my then future wife was pregnant at that time I haven't had the cash to get it fixed by someone that knew what they were doing. But I loved it while I had it. I'm not big on car audio though. I've always heard Kenwoods are good unless you are putting a serious system in. But for my purpose they are good, as long as they can hold up.
