here's my 83 z28. this is the day, or day after i got her.

she came with the crossfire injected 305 with a th200c i believe.

about a week after i got it, the injection system went out, so i've spent the last couple months aquiring the funds to get her running.

well, the car came with a second carbeurated 305, so i decided to bypass the computer BS and go straight mechanical.

so, here's the outside, and a couple shots of my intake swap progress.

Good idea tossin the crossfire injection in the dumpster. they were experimental at best. and not a sucessfull one either:eek: A good q-jet will wake it up some.

Never really seen crossfire b4 so those are some interesting pics. And as a TPI guy I have to say, its hard to beat a good ol' carb setup.

so...just found out how much work this is gonna take.

this is killin me. i dont make much money, and ir eally cant make anymore cause my effing car isnt running.

if i switch over to the 700r4 like i've been talking about, im gonna have to change the xmember, the driveshaft, and the torque arm....

but if i keep the th200, im gonna have to pull it out just to put a hydraulic lockup in it.

sigh. i should never have bought this exact camaro.

oh well, i have it now.....just gotta get the funds....gotta have this done by christmas, need to go see my fam in oklahoma...

sigh

It may not be the "perfect" setup for speed, but the way I've come to look at things is; make it as fast as you can with what you've got and don't worry about beefin' up stuff until you blow it to smithereens. Since your car is crossfire/200 tranny, then maybe its not such a big loss if you throw some nitrous on it and blow the crap out of it. On the other hand, maybe it won't blow for a couple of summers and you get to have some fun until later on when maybe you have the money to throw some serious parts at it. Its rear drive, V8, American and it's a CAMARO. So turn that frown upside down lol.

I'll get on the local 3rd gen site and see if I can't get him over to update.
